This might be a little complicated, but here goes...

We bought another house and so for the time being we have 2 houses. House #1 is where we live. House #2 needs some work before we move in. We will sell house#1 after we move into house #2.

House #1 has Dish Network. I've had it for a really long time. There weren't installers. They sent you a box full of crap and you installed everything yourself. Several upgrades later, I'm now the customer of a local install shop that subcontracts for Dish. I never called them. I called Dish.... but as you know, once an installer visits you, he's yours forever. They're nice and everything, but they do "basic" installs. Hey.... they're not making a ton at this from what I understand from reading what other installers go through. But on the new house (house #2) I want a nicer install. Do most of the instal places have guys they'll send out, that AREN'T fresh outa high school and that will take the time to run cable inside rather than do a house wrap where they screw it to the mortar joints down one whole side of the house? (House #2 is all brick outside). I swear some of these guys don't know how to use siding channels to their advantage.

I kinda know where I think the dishes will get mounted. I don't think they'll have eastern arc available here for a while. (Buffalo, NY/Niagara Falls, NY area). If they did... that'd be ideal. One dish pointing (more or less) southeast would be the perfect setup for this house. As it stands now I have 2 dishes. One for 61.5 and another for 110/119.

There *IS* a guy locally that is a Dish authorized reseller (not sure if that's the right terminology) and that I know would run the cable better (and it wouldn't be free) but I'd have to cancel Dish and start up again in my wife's name or something. And that STILL may not work because we'll be moving the phone number over with us.

I need to get my cat5 and coax runs in and I would hate to make 4 runs of .... oh.... maybe 60 feet each from the wiring "closet" location to where I THINK they'll install the dishes and then have them tell me they wanna mount them somewhere else.

I'm in a quandry. Maybe because I'm now doing chores in 2 places at once. :)

thoughts?
