Starting today MSNBC is now supplied by the US Studios. Prior to today MSNBC was supplied by Rogers Media/Shaw Cable. The service was known as MSNBC Canada. The channel primarily carried US programs with some required Canadian content thrown in during off-peak hours. Rogers/Shaw decided to pull the plug on this channel in late 2003 and applied to the CRTC to have the full 24 hour US feed added to the list of eligible services. The CRTC approved the request on Sept. 16 2004. On September 30th 2004, MSNBC Canada dropped all its Canadian content from the schedule but continued to supply the MSNBC feed until November 30th 2004.
