My 211 Comes Today ( Will Post Info Later On How It Goes )

My 211 I Ordered on Feb 1 , 2006 to swap my 811 out, comes today and is being installed from 12:00 A.M. Eastern to 5:00 P.M. I will let everyone know how it goes. Wish me luck that it is indeed a 211.

The 211 is a nice receiver, I played with one for a day or so (actually it was the 411 but same thing)

You will find that the picture quality on the VIP211 is very good. And the user interface is great.

I ended up with a 411 which is ok, cause the ethernet port isnt used right not anyways, i upgraded to Dish HD Platnium,, and im waiting for the programming to come in the guy said 30 mins to 1 hour cause theres alot of people.

I ordered a HDMI Cable (24AWG) w/ferrites and net jacket- 3ft (Gold Plated) (NF) to go with it for 22 dollars w/ shipping 2-3 business days

Got 2 411's today. Installed nicely and love it. Switched from cable and dish is definately much better. Ordered them 2 days ago and were installed this morning. The only problem I had was with one it didn't authorize. After a reboot it work fine. Never knew how bady HD was with cable. Picture so much better than cable.

Why don't yo go over to the thread on the basic E*forum (http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=55037) where there are several people who are bragging about dumping E* and going to cable, 1 was even the 2005 Satellite Guy of the Year!!!!

I left cable about 12 years ago and have not looked back! E* has some problems BUT I think it is a hell of a lot better than cable!

BTW I got my 411's about 1.5 months ago and think they are just great!

My 811 is OK, but I have to do a switch check every 2 days now, so I'm actually looking forward to replace it with a 211!

I have had my 2 411's for about a month and a half and did the switch check once when I hooked them up and have not had to do it since. BTW the 411 is about the same as the 211 with the exception the 211 has an ethernet connector vrs. a USB port on the back.
