New HD on Bel maybe we will see it

Bel Express in Canada announced new HD coming up there. Believe or not AMC HD is 1 of the channels. Could E* get it? We will see. Bell TV announces 100 HD channels, a Canadian first | Sympatico.ca Sync

Whatchel,

You do realize that Bell ExpressVue, and Dish are totally separate companies that sign and negotiate their own carriage agreements, Right?

Since these companies are totally separate one companies carriage agreements have nothing to do with the other.

AMC HD is not coming to Dish anytime soon. Why you ask?, Because Dish and Rainbow Media (owner of AMC HD) are in litigation for the removal of Voom from Dish's service. Until this litigation is settled no New HD channels from Rainbow Media (We HD, IFC HD, AMC HD).

Of course I know they are 2 different companies. I'm well aware of the Voom/Rainbow media situation. Just pointing out the a company that is using nearly the same set-up as E* is getting the Rainbow set of channels.

Whatcel,

Most Cable companies use the same Scientific Atlanta Cable Boxes, does that mean Time Warner is going to carry the same channels as Mediacom, or Comcast that use the very same hardware?

The channels carried by any one provider has absolutely nothing to do with the actual STB hardware subscribers use. Channel carriage depends on the actual bandwidth a provider has as well as the carriage agreements they sign.

Neither Bell nor Dish share the same Uplinks/Downlinks, Facilities or orbital slots to deliver content to subscribers.

The Rainbow HD channels have been talked about before, and again no Dish Subscribers will see any Rainbow HD channels until the litigation is settled. Judging be the actual speed of the process, it'll be AT LEAST Fall 2010 before a judgment is rendered.
