Hi, I'm going to be signing up soon and after reading the AAA thread, was wondering if that is my best option. I'm guessing, I would have to be a AAA member the entire 2 years or could I let my AAA membership expire after the first year and continue to get the discount for the last 12 months. Anyone know?

Also, if anyone else has any current offers or tips and tricks for me, I would appreciate it! I'm going to get an HD DVR and probably one other HD box, that would be it.

Looking at Direct's site, choosing my options is complicated!

One more thing, , should I call Direct to sign up, or is it better to go through another sales center?

you do not need to keep the AAA after signup, and you must activate through the special AAA signup number. You can combine a referral as well, and get the regular national promo for $18 off / mo.

The equipment deals are pretty much the same any route you go. figure either $99 or $199 for what you mentioned.
