I have a 622..I messed around trying to get a better signal and now I have no signal at all..i ran check switch and it say that one of my connection isn't connected properly..now on the blue attention screen under satellite it has a X Can somebody help me??

Your check switch screen should read |119|110|148 or 129|, etc., depending on your satellite setup. The 119 should come first.

If it reads 110|Conn|..., you're aimed too far east if you're standing behind the dish.

What does your checkswitch say?

Let us know what kind of dish you have. If you have the 1000 dish with one LNB that has 3 eyes on it, then you can use the following tips:

Grab you a couple t-shirts or baseball caps and put them on the two outer eyes, leaving just the center eye exposed. Slowly move the dish from left to right. You want to move slow because the receiver might not immediately respond to finding the signal. If you don't catch it, try raising the dish 3 degrees or lowering it 3 degrees. However, if you haven't raised it or lowered it when you lost the signal the first time, don't do it this time. Make sure to put the receiver on 119 transponder 11 in the point dish screen. (menu 6,1,1) Once you lock the 119 signal, remove the baseball caps and run the check switch. Since 129 is the weakest signal on that dish, you can then switch the satellite to 129 on the receiver and go to transponder 31 or any transponder currently showing a signal. You can then try to score a few more points on that one.

If you post your zip code here, we can give you the proper dish settings you should have on there. Those settings assume a perfectly plumb mast.

thanx...for the help guys i got it back on before the superbowl last night
but i will remember that just in case something else happens

Take a permanent marker and mark the settings on your dish so if you adjust it again and lose signal you can go back to where you started.
