NHL Center Ice feed ch 636 (Phi/Van) wrong aspect ratio

Hi. It seems the feed for this game on 12-30-08 is having issues. It's obvious they've compressed a widescreen feed onto a 4x3 output, so the players are looking all lankey and thin.

Also, the commentator's voices are lower than normal compared to the rink sounds, so I can barley hear them over the noise of the arena.

I noticed it too. I adjusted the zoom feature on the remote to produce a 16:9 ratio (HD) which brought everything to its proper size and shape. Didn't notice the sound differrence on my surrround system though.

I doubt the game was broadcast using the wrong aspect ratio -- my guess is that it was broadcast in HD and Dish messed up the CI feed in their rebroadcast.

Maybe Dish actually intended to broadcast the game in HD and messed up by broadcasting on a non-HD channel.
