Yes, I did try the "red button" but it didn't make any difference at that time. But I did the hard reboot again, this time I waited about fifteen minutes before I turn STB back on again. I even unplugged the phone line as well. And behold, it works again. I am not sure it was phone line which gave this problem but my HDTV is showing HD content once more again. My STB acted very strange last several hours after the software update last night but for now, it is sending proper 1080i signal to my TV. Hope this software upgrade is stable enough in the future. I will report back if there is any changes in my system in the future. Oh yeah, I don't think caller id on my STB works properly. It will be off until I know for sure that this feature is working properly.
