NY "HD" satellite - point at 61.5 or 129?

I live in upstate NY. I was told that I could see both 61.5 and 129. I've got a Starband dish pointed at 110, 119 and starband. I've got an extra Dish 500 in the garage with 1 dual LNB & a single LNB. I figure I could use this to point at 61.5 or 129. All I need to know is witch sat. is the best one to point at?

Yep! As 129 is extremely hard, if not impossible to see from the northeast!

jerryez is correct. NY extral locals are located on 61.5, the NYHD nets are slated to start on 61.5 as well. Voom HD are on both 61.5 and 129. You may not be in the NY dma (upstate NY). You can check you address at Dish website.

Your biggest problem is finding a decent SW64 & power inserter to hook it all together.

That is unless somehow your Starband dish has been modified to accept DishPro LNBs. And of course, your spare dual LNB has to match - either Legacy if it's what I think it is, or DishPro if not.

You're likely better off hanging a Dish500 with DPP-Twin and a D300 with DP Single or Dual.

With Dish Pro lnbs, you can hook them together with a DP21 switch and they are cheap.
