I currently have a 722 and a 211. The 722 feeds my main hdtv and a sdtv, the 211 feeds another hdtv. I will be replacing the sdtv with an hdtv and want hd fed to it. Do i go with a hopper and 2 joeys? Or a hopper and 1 joey and keep the 211?

What works out cheaper?

You can't have a VIP boxes on a Hopper and joey system I would go with 2 Hoppers and and 1 Joey. I have a 2 Hopper and 1 Joey system and love it gives me 6 tuners.

You did know PTAT is an OPTION, right? And, if so, you know that it goes a long way toward lessening timer conflicts?

yes i do, but if its on, and the joey is in use, then there is no free tuner to record, even if you do not want a netwrk show in a time slot

PTAT + 1 Joey = 2 tuners (out of three...4 with OTA module).

cant do hopper 1 joey and 211

i suggest 2 hoppers and 1 joey

or add another 211

Hmm, I thought that if you owned the 211, that you could have one with a Hopper set-up.

What size is your new HDTV going to be? I only have a 722K that's connected to two HDTV's and tv2 output looks fine on the second tv. That tv is a 37" 720p lcd and is connected to the 722K via a 25' composite cable set. If the new tv, for example, is 32" and 720p, then why don't you see what it looks like. If the tv that's connnected to the 211 a smaller one, maybe use tv2 from the 722 on that and put the 211 on the new tv?

The best set-up would be 1 Hopper with 2 Joeys. But that would raise your cost from $13 (soon to $14) to $24. Quite a jump just to convert one output from sd to hd. Also, while you can get a ota usb tuner for the Hopper, that's an extra cost for something that both the 211 and 722 have standard.

I thought you could have a 411,222,or 211 on a hooper set up? I dont own the 211.

If i go with the 1 hopper, 2 joeys, how many things can i record at the same time? Ota will not work for me.

All the tvs will be 46" and bigger, so no tv2 on the 722.

Pretty sure the deal is,you can have a 211 with a hopper setup only for rv accounts.

So 1 hopper and 2 joeys? I want to be able to use 1 dvr for the house. Cant do that with 2 hoppers, right?

Not sure what you mean (1 dvr for the house)?Anyway, you currently have 3 sat tuners capable of feeding 3 tvs,2 hd 1 sd.If you go with 1 Hopper and 2 joeys, you still have 3 sat tuners capable of feeding 3 hd or sd tvs.

send back the hoppers and joeys ... replace them with 211ks ... $7 per receiver after the first ... one-time $40 account-level fee for DVR conversion and no monthly DVR fees ... if one receiver fails, you can still watch tv.

Can 1 hopper share the dvr with the other hopper? Or are they both independent?

1 hopper has 3 tuners, it will use 1 for live tv
each joey will use 1 for live tv
if your all watching recordings you may have 3 things recording
if everyone is watching live, it could be zero
if you enable ptat then 1 tuner recieves and records the big 4 networks, in most areas.
