Parental control unlock timer?

Searching hasn't turned up an answer, so I need to ask a question. I just had my 2 hopper/1 Joey installation done last night. I just switched from Direct, and they have an option to unlock the receiver for 4 hours instead of having to enter the code every time I change channels. Does Dish have a feature like that?

No, there isn't an option to do that. Either the system is locked or unlocked and if locked, you must enter a code every time you attempt to access locked content.

Dish's parental control system sucks in this regard. It's been this way for years as well (since we had a 522, my first experience with Dish).

Try this: Lock a channel on one receiver only. On the other receiver(s), record a show on that locked channel. When the recording is done, go to the receiver that has that channel locked and try to watch the recording. It will appear as a "Locked event", so you have to input the PIN. Go ahead and input it. Now try and play it. Guess what ? You have to input the PIN again. Explain the reasoning for that.
