I have a HIRD-E86 D* HD receiver that puts out 1080i on component. I want to use it with my EDTV, which has a RGB VGA plug and supports up to 800x600 (The component inputs only support 480i/p). Is there any kind of VGA transcoder out there that can get the 1080i signal to convert to a VGA (max 800x600) signal? I heard that 1080i is actually 540p when talking about VGA, so maybe just a straight component to VGA adapter would work?
Any comments would really be appreciated.
