returning sub with ?'s

When you sub to HD, is it required that you get a 5 LNB dish?
Is D* HD/DVR a stable receiver?
If i get my HD locals OTA,will i need a 5 LNB dish?

I've been away from D* since 2002. Sorry if these are off the wall questions.

As Shmeff said, you need the 5 LNB for all HD channels. There are some today that you do not but eventually you will especially the 100 coming out this Fall. So the skinny is, get the 5 LNB if you do anything HD. I would still do OTA as there are some sub channels that are quite nice and only available OTA. Just remember to have a separate line for OTA as you can not couple Directv signal and OTA on the same line with the 5 LNB unless you get a special multiswitch which is not publicly released yet.
