Samsung SIR-TS160 Bug tuning in OTA channels

I talked to Samsung today about a bug. If you want to get a digital channel you have to use the scanning . You cannot tune in a channel if it has not been scanned. i have a antenna with a rotor and preamp. If you scan the channels and then want to turn the antenna and scan the other ones you have to rescan again and then you lose the first ones you scanned. What has happened to technology? Such a simple thing as tuning in the channels has turned into a mess. Does anyone have a fix or suggestion for this problem?

I thought you could manually add the channels to your guide and once they were there they would stay unless you went back and removed them. I tried an antenna with no luck but I remember having to go back in the guide options to remove the channels and I thought I had to add them too, it was so long ago I just don't remember what exactly I did.
