Hopper was working in the morning, but in the afternoon it could not find ANY sats except "X".

It seems locked in a continuous loop of check switches (only finding 1 of 1 instead of 1 of 4 for each tuner) & trying to acquire from on of the Western Arc sats.

???

Have you tried unplugging the Hopper to reset it? Please send me a PM with your phone number or account number and I'll make sure we get this taken care of.

Ok I had a similar issue on my install with the Sat X so forth. What I would do is contact Dish or your local reseller whoever you went through to get your install. Have them bring you a new Node.. This was what was causing me issues on my install and the tech end up having 2 bad Nodes brought one back from the office that was working on a systems and it worked fine. Also he tested the 2 nodes he had brought on my install did they same thing at their office would bring out the Sat X so forth. Also one of the bad Nodes would work once then go back to not working either way that's the 1st thing I would replace is the Node.. Seems like there are some bad ones out there that got sent out..

That was the problem. I bought another Solo node, swapped it with the old Solo, and bingo! Tested it on both sat arcs, ran it through my AB switches, and it's all hunky dory now.

The tech who installed my Hopper system had problems with the Solo node -- those dang small holes in the coax connectors. He punched one of the fittings completely through and jury rigged a fix -- which broke a few days ago.

So I guess when you see Sat X, think node replacement.

Wow you had a bad tech.

Glad you got it resolved!

For future reference, to troubleshoot node issues, you can hook the Hopper directly to a line from your dish (or DPP44) and two of the three tuners in the Hopper will still function. This will tell you whether or not it is a dish/line and/or node issue.

Yeah, and after the install he seemed to be looking for a "tip" because it was an RV install. I felt guilty for not giving him one . . . until today when I checked the Solo "repair" he did.

Great tip! Tx.

I take it there's no way I can fix this, huh?
