sky fi two wont power up

sky fi two is powering up in home cradle,not car

just purchased the sky fi 2,set in the home and car cradle for my original sky fi and ,and ,and nothing ! supposedly backward compatible w/original
sky fi components. any tips ,or did i just get a dud(dead receiver?

well receiver powered up in home cradles finally .here and at work.still will not
come on in the truck.it is an original cradle for sky fi.read someting instructions that
they recommend the new design vehicle cradle (optimized for sky2 ??)
