Since the recent server tune up I've noticed the site has become more sluggish in its response time usually taking 10 or more seconds to load the page on my end ( specific to this site ). I've noticed it is worse on pages where the qwest imbedded video adds are located for the most part.

You are not alone. I thought it was just access from work, but noticed at home and on cell broadband today also.

I am also noticing time-outs more frequently

It is because we are not using caching. The last update of the cache software had a bug in it which caused people seeing blank pages after posting a message.

Vans issue however is the ads, as some of the servers (not under our control) are slow to serve the ads.

I just applied a patch on the server about 10 minutes ago which is supposed to help with some of the issues we have been seeing since our "tune up" :)

Yes I reported that "Page not showing" after a post awhile ago :) It still seems to be a problem though, When I make a post now sometimes it will just hang then goto a page with a single ad on it, but not show the post I have to hit back or refresh then it takes me to the thread again. It only happens when my new post is going to be on the "next" page (page 2 3 etc.)

I've seen that same issue two years ago Steven, wonder if some old bad code was let loose again.

Scott the imbedded issue is only mildly bothersome but something I thought I would let you know about as I wasnt sure if it was on my end with my provider or not.

The sight is very sluggish on my end. Pages are loading slow. I tried to post a reply earlier in another forum that disappeared and had to repost. I have made a lot of changes to this computer and thought the problems were on my end or with my at&t dsl 6.0 but other sites I go to are flying. This is not a complaint. Just an observation.

Been slow right now, just go this error in Bluray forum.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /usr/home/satellit/public_html/includes/functions.php(5166) : eval()'d code on line 119

Thanks I will check it out in a bit, now I got to run to Chuck E Cheese for my sons 5th Birthday Party.

The issue is there is a problem with that message and I need to figure it out and fix it. :)

Ok I have to say that the imbedded ads in random posts in each thread slow down things a tad but the Qwest ones are making this unbearably aweful and I'm looking forward to renewing my pub member status tomorrow.
