Smearing, freezing & other DVR problems

ok here it goes
My 522 ( just started doing this recently ) has a persistnet "smearing" problem when using the Skip back & skip forward commercials
its begining to get annoyiing

My 721 ( just started recently) "freezes' when you use SKip back or Skip forward ( it will actually stay on the same frame for 5 to 10 seconds)
again beginning to get annoying

and the Occasinol "005 error" " your Smart card is Not blah blah. this is not so much of anoyance because it usually only last for a second or 2 , However it seems like if it happens when I'm watching something thats being currently recorded , I have to start the recording over or it just stays on a Black screen, this is Very annoying .

am I the only one that noticed this recently?

I experienced this only on 1 recording I played back. Upon checking the air date, I found it to be near the time big storm outage last week. All other recordings previous and subsequent trick play well. But yes, there was just what you described.

I assumed my 522 was finally wearing out. Mine has been doing that for a couple of weeks now. And the smart card error pops up on live and recorded programming.

great at least I'm not the only one that sees it , So far not seeing it on any of today or yesterday recordings ! Hopefully its gone

yes a few weeks here , one night last week every 15 min ( like clock work , cause I started timeing it) 005 for like 3 hours, but that was only that day , Now its just occasional

I just finished watching Burn Notice recorded Thursday night and had the not authorized to view box pop up in the recording five times and smearing intermittently while skipping forward. I am also experiencing this box pausing or freezing for a second or two during live and recorded programming. I've never had any trouble from this box, I use it for sd programming to save space on the 622, this had me thinking about getting another hddvr and replacing this box and another basic 301 now that external hard drive support is available.

hi , does anybody know if its posible to remplace a hard dish from DVR 625 and wich format or system operate used?

I recently buy a 625 dvr and the display sent a message " your hard disk was corrupted -----------
i try to clean it or deleted but the system didnt repair so i supposed i need to remplaced the hdd

Happened to me twice thus far. I'm currently waiting on my local installers to install my 722 (going on two week delay) and figured my 522 was finally dying as well. With me it's only happened when I'm watching live tv and go back two hours and play again and it has locked up on me the two times i've wanted to re watch something.

alright dish quit Screwing around ( or whatever your doing) and fix this sh*t , Specifically whatever you've been doing these past few weeks , please stop , too my amazement all dvr were fine up until these past few weeks .

People that are having these problems are similar please post in this thread, what type receiver you got and problems your having , so maybe they ( dish can figure out whats going on ) thanx!

Except for that one time I mentioned, as of this moment, it has never "smeared" again. Sorry to hear that it keeps doing that for others.
