Well guys, I had my first problem with my 30" Sony widescreen HDTV last night. We were watching the Grinch on the local ABC-HD and all of a sudden the picture got this nice bright red hue on it. It was like that on every channel, every input. I had to bang the top of the TV to get it to go back to normal. It did that a couple of more times and banging it always fixed it.

Fortunately I got it in August at Circuit City and got their extended warranty. Their tech is supposed to call me on Thursday to schedule an appointment. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I really like my TV and have praised Sony products. My wife wasn't too thrilled about it. She was watching it with me when it happened.

I've heard of similar problems with Mits RPTV's and solder joints aging.

In the Mits case, it's repairable.
