Switches, Cables and OTA

Just wanted a few opinions and advice on the cheapest solution to my upcoming setup. Actually I need two solutions!

1.
Currently, legacy quad 500 and legacy dual on 61.5. Have a 721 and 508 using 3 lines. I'm going to add a 921, so I'll be an output short. I'm guessing that a 64 switch will take care of it if I stick with legacy. How many lines from each lnb go to the 64 switch? I'm guessing 2 from the quad and 1 from the dual, so I would have 6 outputs all together, although the 2 straight from the quad wouldn't see 61.5. Am I making sense? :?

For the 508, I want to place it in my main room, but it will be for the bedroom tv. The OTA is also running on this line. Does the diplexor to split the signal have to happen before it is hooked up to the reciever, or can it be placed on the output line of the reciever to the tv?

My opinion:

The 64 switch uses two cables from each location. you would need to run four from the quad and two from your 61.5 LNB to use the 64 switch.

You could also use 21's for each output of the quad and receive the same result. Still no help to you in getting the extra output that you need.

Your best bet is to bit the bullet and move to DP, as all of the future stuff will be using this technology as well as being able to daisy chain 34's.

You will need:
DP twin
two DP34's
and a DP single LNB.

If you decide to go this way and need help hooking it up let me know.

Sorry to be the barer of bad news, I just dont see a way around it, maybe someone else can.

Thanks Theater for the info. Now if I used a Dishpro quad, could I get away with just one DP34?

Yes if you have a quad you can use just one DP34. Hook the first 2 ports up to your DP34 switch and the other 2 up to your receivers for six total ports.

To correct Lightinin 1 yes 4 outputs from the DP-34 will have all three satellites. The two from the DP Quad will only have the Dish 500 signal.
