Trying to upgrade 7100 hard drive. HELP

I am trying upgrade the hard drive in my 7100 and I am having trouble. I have done this before. Just take out the old or stock HD, put in the new one and webtv updates the new HD and your good to go.
Now, when it automatically tries to dial out to get the update/software, it never connects to webtv and gives error messages.
What do I do?

Have a look at the yahoo "dishmod" group. Basically, I think you need to copy some info from the old hd to the new hd. The program "Drive Utilities" rings a bell from the distant past. HTH.
