i am new to forum. just got a 10 ft mesh dish and orb-5000 receiver. does anyone know about this receiver? how to flash? or how to use it like some of the new fta receivers. its a few years old. thank you any help?

As I understand it, that cardslot is widely un-used. It was put there so that you could be mailed a card instead of a whole new module if the providers needed to change your VC+ ID. Those modules are expensive to buy new!
That module is what lets you call NPS / Skyvision / whoever and subscribe to analog pay-tv services. No card needed for that.
