Very confused about specific HD channel...

Hey everyone...sorry in advance for my TOTAL lack of knowledge about this stuff.

I am in Southern PA and "moved" to get SNY and SNY-HD (5438). I have SNY SD no problem. However, nothing is ever listed in the program guide for SNY HD. I know that they have SOME things broadcast in HD. Whenever I turn the channel on, it says "Check back often to see if your favorite team is playing in HD".

Now...does this mean that I am out of the spot beam? If so, I thought that SNY-HD was on a Conus beam? Is there any way I can check to see what satellite I'm on and can I change that? Thanks very much for your help!!

The SNY-HD channel only shows programming that is in HD. So, what you are seeing is correct. When one of your local sports teams has a game on and it is being televised in HD you will find it there.
