[VOOM] Hey guys

OK guess this is my "hi Im new thread"

so hey ppl

I'm eagerly waiting my VOOM instllation and dropping DTV, gees their
HD content sucks compared to this, I cant wait for VOOM...

I look forward to the full HD experience, I been reading about this
and trying to familiarize myself with all VOOM things

I have one question though, does the installation package come with
an optical digital cable for audio or should i go buy that separately?

I got DVI cable, component cable, the regular yellow video red/white audio cable (I
can't think of the name right now), but no coax or optical audio cable.

Add to the above a 25ft telephone cable, and that's what I got in my package. The digital audio cables are something you'll have to purchase separately.

Ditto,
DVI plus telephone cable supplied. We already had surround sound
system so I guess that took care of the digital audio and boy does
that thing crank! Heaven--even the commercials (LOL)

Speaking of telephone cable, numb-nutz (our installer from hell)
didn't even install ours so I asked him "how do you expect us to get
pay per view??" He said my area doesn't get pay per view but at that
point installed it anyway. The Pay Per View screen says we have to
update our service to get it. (???)

Hey even better is your receiver has an open coaxial digital input just take the video (yellow) line anc connect it between the Voom box and the receiver. Since it's all digital whether it's over optical or coaxial you get the same sound.

So in a way Voom does supply a digital audio cable. Don't waste your hard earned cash on "specialty" cables, wire is wire is wire..... Unless it's severely undersized or corroded it's good to use....
