I'm dying here! Caught the tail end of "Walk the Line" a very good Johnny Cash bio-pic. Then decided to watch "Walk Hard: the Dewey Cox Story" OH my god! I forgot just how funny this movie was and how many parallels it drew to Johnny Cash's story.

"Walk Hard: the Dewey Cox Story" is your 100% stereotypical musician bio-pic. They only difference is it lampoons just about every tired cliché one can think of while making you laugh until you hurt! Dewey Cox starts off as a near perfect parallel to Johnny Cash, then morphs into copies of Bob Dylan, Bryan Wilson, fat Elvis and other notable singers of the 50s 60s and 70s before returning back to the roots and ending the story back as a parallel of the great Johnny Cash.

The representations of other signers of the time like Buddy Hollie, The Beatles, etc. were absolutely terrible, but done intentionally to hilarious effect.

One thing that is no joke about this movie is the music. The song library written for this fictitious rock star is really catchy. The lyrics are very funny at times.

This is a movie to see. It is a farce. It's light. It is memorable.
