What is everyone using for receiver delays?

Happy new year!

There have been a lot of posts about 722 lip sync issues. It seems that the issues have gotten better since L448 and in general. I still notice minor delays, but I think it might be in the video processing the 722 does before outputting it. My eyes seem to be very touchy with lip sync!

My receiver has a delay function. I've been tweaking it and have found that a setting in the 10-12ms range seems to make things better. I'm curious if any others are using the delay function of their receivers, and if so, at what setting?

I don't use the delay function for any of my other inputs (TiVo S3, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, game consoles, etc...) and don't have lip sync issues with those devices.

I have had MAJOR lip sync issues in the past, but in the past couple weeks it has been MUCH better. As for an audio delay on the receiver, I don't even know if mine has that option.

RE: Lip Sync issues...

I'm not sure what is going on with this issue. I've noticed it recently on Directv HD, Dish, and even Comcast SD. Thought it was an mpeg4 issue with Directv, but when I started noticing it with the other providers and even in the analog Comcast feed I'm beginning to think its a problem with the way the signals are being relayed from the source. Don't know! Just know that it is everywhere and not just with one channel.

Getting ready to get rid of Dish

Upset about the Noggin/The N! "solution"?
