I have a Dish 1000 and wondering what signal strength I should have on the 129 satellite. After resting something against the dish today I decided I better check and make sure I still get signal and didn't knock it out of alignment. I seem to be getting from 28-31 on the signal strength meter on screen. I tried tweaking the dish slightly without loosing the bolts and I can't get it any better. Is that around what it should be or is that low?

It all depends on your location.... in my area it is tough to get much higher than that.

Ok maybe that's good enough then. I couldn't remember what it was before. I know you don't get as high of a signal on 129 as you can on 119 and 110 but that just seemed awfully low to me. I'm getting mid to high 70's on 119. I used to get in the low 100's with a Dish 500 but since the switch to the Dish 1000 it's dropped to that and I don't think it will get much better.

Most of my TP's on 129 are in the mid 40's to mod 50's on a D1000.

TP6 is in mid 30's and several others are just as weak.

I have a 1000.2 here in metro Denver. My lowest transponders are in the 20s (as low as 22) and my highest are in the 40s with an occasional transient past 50. My installer last May spent a lot of time trying to maximize 129 for my location and I think it is as good as it gets. The 129 bird has power problems and the signals from it are weaker than you might normally expect. Those channels running in the 20s have a lot of drop outs in anything less than ideal weather conditions. I've read elsewhere in this forum that the 129 issue won't be dealt with by E* until sometime next year.
