I just got a Joey so that my wife would be able to watch the same recorded show in the LR (mirrored) that I am watching in the BR. so that when I manually skip commercials (non PTAT) she will share the same experience.
So far I am being told it can NOT be done.
The only way would be to run component cables from the Hopper in the BR to the TV in the LR.
One of you geniuses should know a better way.

Wireless HDMI. Check the amazing dot com people or Google it. It'$ an option to con$ider. But then you won't even need the Joey.

Distance can be an issue.

Since the Joey essentially acts like a Hopper I can't see any benefit to using a Joey to control a Hopper. Even if you wanted the audio/video synced there would still be a slight delay on the Joey.

However you CAN use a Joey to control one of the Hopper's tuners, and while sharing tuners (live TV) Joey can FF/REW the Hopper. So far, no way to do that with recordings though.

The Joey is mounted to the back of the LR TV and connected to it by HDMI.
Thus the original question, how do I get the Joey to mirror the Hopper?

Just always have that Joey share the same tuner as the Hopper. That can be done and leave the other tuners free.

+1. Easy and in HD and a true mirror experience. Further, if he wanted to, he could then either use the existing remote already paired to the Hopper or purchase an additional Hopper/Joey remote for $20 at Dish on line store (as I did because we both need to control the Hopper in the living room and I can't stand having to throw the one remote at each other when I need to assume control) and link that 2nd new remote to the Hopper (this can be done following the proper procedure) and then use that NEW remote in the bedroom to control the Hopper in the other room and enjoy a true mirrored experience.

So, essentially, he is using the 2nd paired remote to control the Hopper from the other room (he can use the original remote if he wants carry it between the 2 rooms), but would NOT use the Joey to view the mirrored content, but switch the TV in the bedroom to the proper input from his wireless HD device. That gives one a true mirrored from the Hopper HD PQ experience while truly controlling the Hopper itself from another room. I hope that makes sense to the OP.
