While viewing TV try pressing YELLOW - BLUE - 3 - Test Connection.
It should tell you if your phone line (and broadband) are functioning properly. If it says it's not working, try checking the line with a handset for a dial tone. If you can't do that, or if you get a dial tone but still no phone connection on the Hopper, try simply waiting 24 hours to see if it will start functioning again. I'm not sure if this applies in your case, but on new Hopper installs a lot of the time the phone line connection won't function properly until 24 hours later.
The test works, but caller ID fails and he red reset fixes it. But it should not be needed. There are still many issues on the Hopper not holding information correctly, and this is just one of the problem areas.
