I can attest that Dish recently shipped me a replacement HWS for free and a free return label to send the dead unit back. Who says Dish doesn't care about existing customers?!?
The way to get around this is to downgrade service and ship back your extra receivers while you're still a customer (no fee) and then call to cancel service on the final box (fee).
