Drama and Classics Pack?

Is the Drama and Classics package a newer package? I don't recall being able to add TNT to a package previously. Seeing TNT in an add-on pack caught my eye.

Yes, this is new. I may look into it as I have the Flex Pak which doesn't have some of these channels. So, it is $6.00 for 9 channels which includes H&I, Comet, Laff, Sundance, TNT, Start, ION, MGM Drive-In, and FMC.

Good Idea for another pack to add for $6.00 a month. Add to Flex pack to save money and get more of what you want.

I subbed yesterday. Not happy. First of all Sundance and TNT are already in my package - Laff, Ion, Start, MGM+, and H&I are SD and not formatted to fit the screen, either too small or squeezed horizontally. FMC is fine except it's a streamer and you can't record it. What a waste. I'm dropping it. This was not well thought out.

Here's Laff on my 65" Sony:

Probably but the picture being squeezed horizontally can be addressed as well as the square image being too small and more importantly they need to get off their collective fannies and enable stream recording. If I'm paying for a streamer then I should be able to record it just like any other channel.

What's the channel number for Laff?
Never mind found it on 239.

I thought maybe it was a setting on your tv but it looks like that on mine too.

However with that said I get Laff via OTA and it looks the same there too. Must be the way Laff is sending it.

Except the above picture is not 4x3, if so, it would extend to the top/bottom of the screen, with just black on the sides.
With a Hopper, the picture can be expanded easily. I mapped my double diamond button to allow me to stretch or zoom as needed. Takes all of 5 seconds.

Also with Hopper FMC can be recorded.

I looked into it more... it is being send in 16x9 SD format by Laff.

If you notice the logo is off the side of the 4x3 picture.

We run Laff here in Hartford so I will ask Joe the engineer on Monday if thats the way it is being received.
Laff OTA in Birmingham is 16x9. If I had guide info I might actually use OTA feeds on my Hopper ;)

It would be great to know if that is how it is being received. Here in Chicago, if I watch it on 38-4, it is 16:9. However, on Dish, to make it look the same, I need to change my receiver to be "HD: Zoom" in order for it to look the same. I know some DMA's it is being received in HD, so I know an HD feed exists.

Laff does not have a HD feed. It's 16:9 SD feed

I was basing it off what I saw on RabbitEars. According to RabbitEars, there are 720p feeds of LAFF in Norfolk VA, Fort Meyers FL, Tucson AZ, Lafayette LA, Santa Barbara CA, and Corpus Cristi TX. Maybe that is incorrect. Trip would know the nuisances of his website.

The station broadcasting it could very well be upscaling LAFF

There are stations that may carry an affiliate in 720p due to carrying other programming on it.
My market (Mankato, MN) carries 365Blk (365 black) in 720p as they carry sports on it and My Network programming overnights. Most other affiliates carry it in SD 480i
