Anyone planning to buy the iphone 17?

I became an Otterbox Defender aficionado long ago. BECAUSE it is bulky. I doubt there's better protection out there.

Phones cost too much to take chances.

I just can't stand that bulk in my pocket. I want it as thin as possible.

I love cargo pants from Wrangler. Summertime the shorts. They have a special pocket that can hold the 15PM. However, for years I have been using a belt holster so I really don't use that special phone pocket.

Anyone updated to the new iOS 26 yet? It has a nice "glass" aesthetic, but seems to make my iPhone 16 run sluggish sometimes.

I have been running it from release of the developer beta to the public release of iOS 26 on my iPhone SE (2nd generation) released in April 2020 and I am not seeing any sluggish behavior.

I upgraded all my stuff and haven't noticed any performance issues.

I do find the new behavior of the delete function in the Mail app mildly annoying.

So far it's running reasonably well on my iPhone 13. There was the usual "phone runs hot/battery gets sucked dry" period after updating, but it's been reasonably normal since upgrading.

I just need to update our Macs to complete our OS 26 transition. The Liquid Glass is okay except I disabled transparency in Dark Mode. It made the time unreadable.

I dislike the Mail app on the iPad. When I see that I have unread emails, I'll grab my iPhone and triage mail instead of using it on the iPad I already was using.

I like Yahoo's app. It keeps multiple accounts organized (like my other AOL account), it's easy to use, customizable themes and colors, etc. Easy to make folders and toss multiple emails into those folders.

I updated my 15PM and it seems to be running just fine. I checked all my apps and only got notice to update the Mammotion Yuka app. Scott take note.

I'll update my wife's 12 mini on Saturday before backup and transfer to her new 17Pro that I got notice it's in and ready for pickup.

Back from the Apple Store.

First I went to Best Buy to look at the 17P and was pleased with what it looked like. I didn't see any of the new 17's on display in the Apple Store but only people allowed in were those with pickup appointments. I grabbed some short clips with my RayBan Meta glasses.

You can have folders in Apple's email but what I'm not sure about is ability to set up rules to automatically screen an email and move it to a folder. Since I have my own domain name and mail server, I have a rules based web mail site with lots of folders. It's from Network Solutions and called webmail. In other words you access it from any browser like Edge or Chrome.
I used to use Office Outlook and it also had a rules system to file email into folders as they arrive.
The Network Solutions system will add the folders to the iphone mail app. I think the way it works is the mail gets stored into a folder first and then that folder is in my iOS Mail app.

If you don't use a PC, I would look at Outlook as a way to auto file your inbox on the phone.

I did not know there was an Outlook for iOS. And it's free. Does that mean it has ads injected?

I'll have to look into the pros and cons.
