I currently have a 3LNB dish mounted on a pipe (s/s conduit ) in the ground and buried 2 to 3 feet in the ground w/cement.

The pipe is 1 3/4 "outside diameter 1/8" wall .

My question is can I use this to pole mount the new Slim Line that I need for the MPEG-4 C HD Programming that is coming ?

Will the Azimuth/Elevation mount fit tight enough even though the current pipe is 1 3/4 " and the recommended ppe diameter is 2" ?....this dish mount and dish is pretty hefty.

Should I consider adding another pipe just inside the current one to add strenght?

Your input on this question is important to me.

If you had any other suggestions, tips or ideas I would greatly appreciate them.

Thanks

I used a 1 7/8th " pipe Schedule 40 galvinized and the D* installer said it was too small, I asked him to tighten it up all the way and he did and it really was not tight enough...... He knew it was not 2" right away. mine was only 1/8th short of being the reccommended size. We drilled 2 holes in the pipe and placed screws in it so it would not move.
It's not going anywhere now !
Not sure what to tell you about the 1 3/4, I suppose you could try it.

1 3/4 will not work for a slmline. if you can find a couple PVC couplers for 1.5" pipe, you could maybe hollow them out to slide over your current pole, then the slimline will mount right on. the couplers make the outside diamater 2"
