watch one movie off decomissioned 625

I have a 625 sitting here that's going back to Dish (I upgraded to 622). There is ONE movie on it that we'd like to watch before it gets sent back. Can I plug it in with no satellite cables attached and still be able to get to the DVR recordings to watch that movie?

I tried searching on this and found information about the 622 and unwatchable recordings , but this is a 625 that I have.

Plug it in connect to a TV push the DVR button and try it should work. I know I watched a movie on a deactivated 625 but I think it was still connected to the dish.

the 625 and 522 both work to watch things recorded without having to be hooked to the dish.
