Perhaps with a Plus+ dish.Do not think i can get that satellite where I live. I get 110,119, and 129
If the EPG is correct...then hours I totally believe they will change tonight unless they run into a technical issue somewhere. The EPG lists all of DMAs I listed above as going Off Air at 2am central. Just like they did with the others and the national HD moves.
nice work digi and nelson on the spotbeam maps I see Mpls/St. Paul is on spotbeam 14.....will check out the signal strength tonight when I get home..........
What city do you actually live in ? The spotbeams for the most part go a bit larger than the actual city. Now if you live in the center of the us, you wont be able to get new york spots. But from what i can see, here in new Orleans, the atlanta spotbeam locks in here. I am central time zone, they are east coast. You might be able to move to a city that has hd locals that you can still receive. It might not be an earlier time zone, but at least it will be hd locals. But thanks to the new sat, and removing of conus locals, i will be getting my new orleans hd locals next week(fingers crossed). If it is because of moving conus, so be it. i can also tell you that a few of my neighbors have dish and have been waiting for the locals in hd. They wanted to switch to directv who have been having the hd locals for over a year, but i kept telling them with the new sat they will be coming. If this didnt happen, they would have left for directv a while back. Hd locals is what will keep dish competitive with directv. No worries. D* will take my money just as easily as E.*
Why the glee? Lots of people like to get the networks in an earlier time zone and DVR them.
We are good customers and we are going to leave in droves, because we will figure out how to get distant DMA from D* just as easily as we did from E*, plus I will get Sunday ticket, MLB, and can order a souped up Tivo dvr from Weakknees which is better than then 722/
I already have a Slingbox so can live without the new combo.
Only reason I stayed this long is I have four 622/722 that I own and a distant DMA that I am happy to pay for.
I am /was spending over $400/month with dish. It is their loss, not mine. And all of this could have been averted if they weren't so stupd.
And yes, it is a failing company. Look it up. Because they do not know their customers. Pity.
I'd love to see the proof that you were spending $400/month with Dish! That would have to be a shitload of PPV because all the programming added up wouldn't be near $400! And if you spend $400/month on programming, then you obviously have more money than brains! No worries. D* will take my money just as easily as E.*

Are they gonna leave the HD markets on 118.7 for the time being or are they gonna move them to 129?
They are more than likely going to move to Ciel 2 spots sooner rather than later...

KStuart scolded me for posting this in the wrong place...I feel bad
TP4-5 are suppose to be the spots for this area...Seattle-Spokane. No 129transponder shows "spotbeam" at this time. 4-5 show NO reading. 15 which was showing "spotbeam" for over a month with a signal of 45 (old sat) is now showing 57 with "transponder" staying "transponder"...so I'm assuming that is Ciel2.
Told you it was a minor update.
Is a big "spotbeam" shift expected today-tonight-tomorrow, or is the spot shift expected to last several weeks?

Dish also knows how many new subs they get when they add local markets. Far more than they would lose to movers.
The way Ceil-2 is built, keeping LA on CONUS uses up a TP for national HD. Which do you think would sell more customers. The ability to skirt the law and "move" by a few thousand customers or 7 new HD national channels? Dish could pull ahead of DIRECTV in HD again for a while. Which will be more pleased: a few thousand "movers" or a few MILLION HD package subs to get 7 new channels?
Not to mention Dish will probably be able to go up to 175 or so local HD markets between the arcs on spots. Don't forget there is a new satellite coming for 77 and they will have a lot more markets there too. I would not be surprised if Dish did not have a plan to eventually carry every market in HD.
By the end of 2009 I bet every bit of the lower 48 will be able covered for HD locals, you might just have to "move" to a close DMA.
