I guess the broncos game was Tebow Nation vs. Uri Nation. I dont blame Novak. I keep thinking of that Seinfeld episode when Jerry and then later George peed in the parking garage. You know what, when you got to go, you got to go. If you dont, its very bad for the liver.

yep
So not only do you not get the game (get punched in the gut) but then because its a Vikes home game you get kicked in the balls by not being able to show an early game and have that Browns/Ravens "barnburner"

amazing who gets this game and why

BALTIMORE @ CLEVELAND (late) (Macatee/Tasker)
KKTV Colorado Springs CO
KCNC Denver CO
Denver plays early on Fox

WTSP Tampa FL
Tampa plays early and is home team...

WGCL Atlanta GA
Atlanta plays early

WJZ Baltimore MD
WBOC Salisbury MD
Team involved

WCCO Minneapolis MN
Vikes play early

WBTV Charlotte NC
Carolina plays early

WOIO Cleveland OH
WOHL-DT Lima OH
WTOL Toledo OH
team involved

KVAL Eugene OR
WHP Harrisburg PA
have no clue on these

KHOU Houston TX
Houston plays early on Fox and home team

so other than the two teams involved most of the markets are forced to show the game

Yet another reason that the NFL needs to balance the distribution between early and late games. Too often a market is held hostage to a lousy game in the late window of the non-doubleheader network, because there's only one or two games available.

I also don't think it's fair to ST subs (I used to be one of them), that there's usually a 9-4, 10-4, etc. ratio of early to late games.

The Steelers played with fire and almost got burned tonight.

They looked like they were looking ahead to the Bengals game and nearly got trapped at Arrowhead.

You know I have NFL RedZone so I can watch all the games now but I do agree they should have more games on over the air tv. In other words, what I would do is expand doubleheaders. Instead of it just being for Week 17, it should be every week.

The chiefs have a very good defense.

yep in this case its one game. I know some markets above the team is the away team which means the CBS affiliate could show a game opposite the "home" team but they think its suicide to do that.

Ironically Tampa is on the list but will probably be blacked out so they can show the early game (and probably would)

I'm happy I have access to a CBS that is outside of the 75mile blackout area so I can see an early game

Well I am disappointed that Matt Leinart got injured in his start with the Texans against the Jaguars, but Michael Vick had an excellent game against the Patriots, even though the Eagles still lost badly, throwing for 400 yards. If he has matured,he probably IS the QB that the Eagles need to build n offense around. Michael Vick is just too small to play the style that he does & stay healthy through the season. I guess we'll see Kyle Orton next week with the Chiefs,& I'm sorry, but Tim Tebow IS A WINNER. Deion Sanders said it best, that instead of worrying about what Tebow can do tomorrow, enjoy what he's doing today,& that's winning games. he has the Broncos believing in themselves. If they can defeat the Bears, they might actually think they have a chance against the Patriots.

Totally agree, Bill. One week the split was 10-3, another week it was 7-6. What the heck?

Selfishly I wish it was always 7-6, but I do understand that for the sake of their fans attending the game, eastern time zone teams want to play their home games at 1PM and not 4PM.

First my Buckeyes, then my Browns... both losing close ones. Ugh! Tough being an Ohio football fan. And no, the Cincinnati Bengals will never count as an "Ohio team". The Bengals will always be the red-headed step child of Ohio football franchises (no pun intended Andy Dalton). Their city won't even support them and they're in the playoff hunt!

Because they know how to draft, they don't draft the likes of Tim Couch or Brady Quinn.
