I really have been thinking that they (everyone) should do away with Divisions .... (like what the Big 12 is doing)

Divisions are needed because the conferences have too many teams to do a round robin or have the same schedule.

I think its gonna be Ohio State/ LSU (either way) and Clemson and ............. Georgia (because of the Love the sec gets) or Utah.

Not if LSU beats Georgia in the SEC Championship (very likely). At that point it'll be Alabama instead of Georgia (who would then have 2 losses).

The only way Georgia gets in is if they beat LSU.

Also, with 2 losses, there's no way Penn St. gets in.

Because early rankings are crap.
6-5 Texas, who was a Top 10 team at the beginning of the season, is a perfect example of that.

I have also not defended Alabama or Clempson's schedules this year, as neither team has beaten anyone.

Strength of schedule. LSU and Ohio St. have beaten better teams.

And thats ANOTHER issue ...had they not tried to make these SUPER Conferences a few years back, you wouldn't have that issue.

I agree, but you have to go by SOMETHING, If you go by the Current ranking as in what they were when they played, at least they WERE ranked to be good enough at the time.

I team could be great at the beginning of the season and stink by the end, they were still good in the beginning ...

I wasn't even sure it was a possibility, but I remember it being mentioned in the support thread about the upgrade. May want to mention it there.

This is quite interesting ...
IF Bama DOMINATES against Auburn ... with thier back up QB, they could be right back in it.
Then well see how important the Conference Championship games are to the Committee, as Bama wouldn't have one to play in.

Ohio State and Michigan and Wisconsin and Minnesota will determine who plays in the BT CCG.

If Ohio State gets by TTUN in a close game, LSU will be moving back into the #1 slot, provided they win thier game.

What made it even worse were all the weird plays that happened on that last drive that gave them chance after chance when you thought it was over. Then this guy does that and the kicker derps it. Too funny.

Not really.

The SEC had 10 teams for a long time (ever since Tulane left in 1964, and Ga Tech left in 1966), they have never been able to have a round robin due to having 10 teams (and 12 before 1964). By adding 2 teams (USCe & Arkansas) in 1990 they were allowed to split into 2 divisions (due to a rule passed after they previously had 12 teams) which finally at least the divisions to have round robins.

Please try to do some research before making statements like that.

*note* the time of 10 teams was back before the season was increased to 12 games, and conferences typically had 7 in-conference games due to most conference having 8 teams back then. I'd also like to point out that the Big Ten was at 10 teams during that same time period and lacked a round-robin as well.

No, they weren't good. Pollsters thought they were good, and they were wrong.

That's why the Panel has said they evaluate where the opponents are now, not where people thought they were back when the game was played. Thus the ranking at the time means nothing.
