2025-26 College Football

As a reminder, the playoff system this year involves a 64 team first round, which pits colleges ranked 33 v 96 against each other in a play-in to face the top 32 teams in round two. The remaining 16 teams after round four will then play in a limit three game round robin. Teams with the 8 best records move on to the next round in a home 'n home series, total aggregate points win. The final four teams will face off in the semi-finals, 1 v 4 and 2 v 3, where rankings are based on average gate a game, excluding playoffs. The final will be played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Fox at the brand new College Football Dome... sometime in mid June 2026. Fox announced this will be the first AI commentated football game in history.

Really looking forward to this.

Just my opinion, but I do NOT like the OT rules after 2 possessions ...
I think they should continue to play the way they have for the 1st 2 possessions.

I could go into other ideas later.

Some huge winners in week two.

LA-Monroe - $1.9 million
Kent State - $1.5 million
Troy - $1.5 million (uncertain if this is reduced to keep Clemson below 30 points)
Grambling - $1 million

Other schools with a notable weekend
East Texas A&M - $500,000

And people still think College Football is a "sport".
I had read that Grambling State was paid $3 million for their participation in being the sacrificial lamb at Columbus yesterday. Wife is a big BuckNut so we see all the games and generally keep up with tOSU.

There, fixed that ...
Your looking at it as a whole ...
You need to look at it as ... Top teams, playing a step below them games Power 4 vs Mid Majors

The Money IS the reason these games are played.

Fwiw, Ohio State paid Grambling State 3 M last weekend ...
Why, you ask ?
That 3 M, paid for ALL of the Grambling State Sports for the year, All thier expenses. Maybe others as well.

It's Not about the Power 4 team playing lower competition, its all about the Pay day for the smaller school.
Usually, you'll find that these games are against In State teams.

I heard that that OSU was to play Connecticut and they backed out and OSU didn't want a bye week the second week of the season and Grambling was the only school available to play OSU.
