Hey Scoot, are you going to have a Special Edition Satelliteguys.us radio show today? As I am learning more about this it appears that DISNEY pulled the feeds, not DISH.

Dish has, Scripts, Viacom, Disney, and rainbow media! That's every dam provider out there for the most part. The common trend is dish! Not the providers. I dont buy the spin that they are fighting to keep your prices low as every other provider out there has been able to successfuly negotate prices without having to have the channels yanked or pulled!
All of the DTV execs. are singing the cha ching song right now.
Yeah, I wonder how fast can they put a commercial together attacking DN on this issue?I am a bit surprised they have not jumped on this for a promotion yet, someone at Directv needs to keep up on there reading with Satelliteguys

You can bet that Disney will be going after D* next if they are not paying for the HD versions of the channels.Yeah, I wonder how fast can they put a commercial together attacking DN on this issue?
NOMy question is........ I signed a contract for them to provide services to me for 2 years. They have since changed the services that are covered in the contract. Shouldnt I be able to walk away without paying them a cancel fee?

No agreement has been reached that I know of.Scott can you confirm that Disney and Dish have reached an agreement?
Disney responded in a statement, "The recent New York State Court ruling confirms our position that Dish Network is not entitled to carry ABC Family HD, Disney Channel HD, Disney XD HD and ESPNews HD without paying compensation. We hope that Dish will work with us to reach an agreement so that we can make these HD networks available to their customers."
The court ruling referenced was in a breach-of-contract suit Dish filed in 2008 against ESPN and ABC alleging Disney did not provide high-definition feeds of the Disney Channel, ESPN News, Toon and ABC Family. In March 2010, a New York court ruled that Dish owes Disney approximately $65 million under the applicable affiliation agreement. Dish is appealing that ruling.
Can someone help me understand this suit? It sounds to me like Disney is saying Dish never had a right to carry them in HD. But (correct me if I'm wrong) those channels are not distributed on C-band FTA. Obviously at some point they gave Dish access to them, and if there was no agreement, how had Dish carried them for over a year.
