622: Only record OTA on TV1?

Since I have no HD locals on E* here, I was hoping to record one OTA program on TV2 and watch another on TV1. However, even with Record Plus enabled to TV2, the one I want to record is being set to TV1. So, you cannot record one OTA and watch another? I know you cannot record 2 at a time. Is that the way it is, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!!

There is only a single OTA tuner, thus you cannot watch one OTA while recording another, i.e., the tuner can only "handle" one program at a time. You can be watching/recording 2 sat. programs and one OTA program simultaneously, so if you're receiving your locals from E* then that is one workaround...

The 622 has only one OTA tuner and two SAT tuners. If you are recording an OTA channel you cannot watch a different OTA channel. You can watch a SAT channel or a recorded program. If you are recording an OTA channel on TV1 and want to watch a SAT channel on TV1, you must enter the channel number or select it from the program guide. You cannot use the channel up/down buttons on TV1 while something is recording from either TV1 tuner.

Actually, you can use the channel up/down buttons while recording on TV1, as long as you get off the channel its recording first via the guide or channel number. You can then use the up/down buttons, unless the channel you are trying to go to is the one you are recording.

TV2 cannot record or view live OTA channels. You can only watch recorded OTA events that were recorded on TV1. I have no local HD channels either, but on OTA I have 2. If I want to watch both, I just record one on the 622, and use the built in tuner on my TV to watch the other...

yeah, if your TV has digital tuner, that would be the best solution.
