722 orientation ??!?

Can you set the 722 DVR on it side? I assume I can orient it other than horizontally like an xbox or PS.,

That may be hard to do as the receiver need to have an flow of air through it to keep it cooled off. If you block the exit may cause the receiver to overheat and fail. If you block the intake you will definitely cause the receiver to overheat and fail.

So if proper ventilation provided it should be fine? I can manufacture the proper bracket to provide adequate clearance on the sides.

Yes, as long as the airflow is there that is fine. The key is that it isn't bounced around alot (just like any hard drive).

Just ma sure the LEFT side is the side you have facing up to get the proper direction of air flow.

There is a chipset in there that gets REALLY HOT. If you tilt the dvr up, you may cook the PCB rather than the heat rising off the chip into the air circ.
