Any new Recievers about to come out?

I'm lookin at upgrading and the 622 looks like what i need. However if is about to be replaced i can wait awhile longer. Does any know?

I don't think so, if E* is about to release a new receiver they are very tight liped about it.

Actually they have shown at least 2 newer machines. Not that any confirmed schedule on when or if they will really be available. The Vip622-1 which has a bigger disk drive (but may not give the user any more personal space as its reported to be reserved for Dish's use). Another receiver with only One output (i.e no dual mode).

In the past many pieces of equipment were shown that never came to market.

The (ViP--I think) 222 is supposed to be available next quarter. Does anyone know if that box is still coming out? It is a non-DVR, SD/HD box that is capable of single mode with PIP or dual mode. In other words, it is supposed to have all the same features as the 622, but no DVR capability.

The 612 would be the one tv out version of the 622. The new 622 would be like what they did when going from 522 to 625, adding hard drive space for VOD and thats it it seems like. I wonder if they will add other fucntionalities to the newer 622-1 coming out.
