Can we set up an official DISH visit from your shop that is about 165 miles (2.5 hours) from my home? And also request that you be the technician. There are no retailers that I trust in my area and I would rather have you instead of an internal technician from St Louis. You may not necessarily have a choice. Depending on where you live, there may not be any retailers near by and many retailers (not all) do half-assed work that's not even close to Dish expectations. Even calling Dish and getting a g tech sent out is a crap shoot. You may get an internal or you may g et a sub-contractor and in any case, it's hit or miss if you get a proficient tech that does a complete install or a "franken-tech" that does a terrible install. YMMV
Illinois. About 15 miles straight from St Louis across the great Mississippi.Depends if 165 miles means IL, or MO, and thanks for that compliment

It amazes me to watch a guy I'm training run cable and before it gets too late stop him and look back at the cable run - all wavy, not following the forms of the surface it's attached to. etc - and ask him if that looks right. Then I fix it up all nice and neat and the next job, he does it the same way as the first job. Almost everyone of them is the same. I just don't get it.Your right it's hit and miss with anyone. The retailers generally do better work then a dish employee or contractor.
But I do know a lot of independent installers that work for retailers that should not be in the business and hack their way along.
The sad thing is that most do not know what a good installation is.
I think that's our Scott City office
