I'm waiting for an official statement saying they are carrying it or not.
I think that is what we are all want to know. If Big Ten can't reach agreement with Dish, I'm leaving.

Just a note to those of you who want to call Dish to get a discount or cancel, make sure you get the loyalty department for the best deals available. Don't forget to be friendly while still letting them know you are frustrated with channels being dropped. Also remember that if you do not subscribe to a ton of programming or haven't been a customer very long that you may not get as great a deal as some others.
I just did the online chat and was offered some great deals. More than I even asked for. I was able to lower my bill about $30. I have been paying over $160 before so I'm still paying more than the average customer so I wouldn't expect to get the same savings as me.
Hopefully this makes it easier for you to get some deals from Dish and also makes it easier on Dish dealing with customers who are a little more pleasant.

I work for dish and I'm ready to switch. Live in Madison, WI and work long hours on Saturdays. All I want is to DVR the game and watch it when I get home. Just a note if anyone in a position of power is reading, I would happily pay an extra $5 or $6 a month for BTN a la carte. Or a one time fee each year of maybe $60 to have it for at least football season. Don't get much into the other sports
i just an email from the big ten network. i signed up for announcements. They recommend dish users to make alternate plans to view the games this weekend. the mention that dish wants special treatment. it doesn't look like this will be resolved by game time.
it's too bad they also blocked dish users from viewing the live stream from the app on ipad or android.
this is definitely frustrating that i went be able to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes. I called into dish and was able to get $10 credit for six months for more having the big ten network. the person told me there are other football games i can watch. i told her i.wanted to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes. years ago it used to be that i was able to watch all the games on local tv.
i.hope this gets resolved soon.I'm still hoping something gets resolved by this weekend but am not counting on it.
when i went to the big ten network website it says dish.dropped the big ten network. according to dish they are still negotiating. it would be nice if someone let us know what is truly going on.They are both blaming the other party.
First they came for AMC,
and I didn't speak out because I don't watch AMC.
Then they came for BTN,
and I didn't speak out because I don't watch BTN.
Then they came for a channel I do watch,
and there was no one left to speak for me.
Scherrman said:Welcome to the world of contract negotiations. It happens with every provider. As the season progresses I think BTN is losing their upperhand. People will be missing fewer games and the way the B1G is playing no one will care to watch them. I have been told by Dish that they are still negotiating as well but it doesn't look that good. Luckily I wil be at the iowa game.
I know it happens. over the post couple of years i have seen it happen to direct tv, mediacom as well as dish. these negotiations can happen on any provider.
i am unhappy but don't feel it's worth switching providers. i got the hopper when it came out and have have about 18 months left on my contact.
overall I have been happy with dish. They have continued to upgrade the software for the hopper to make it better though there are still some things i would like to see.
have fun at the Iowa game.
BTN is more valuable during basketball season than football. No BTN by basketball season, no Dish for me.
You are absolutely right about that in Iowa. Many basketball fans need Big10 for Iowa hoops. Many of the posts here seem to imply that once we're past football season that it doesn't matter until next year. That is totally false for those that watch Big10 basketball. The longer it goes, the less I believe that any agreement is going to be reached in a reasonable timeframe. If we get past football season- that's it for me. I've been out of contract for over 5 years with Dish now. I'd like to to think that Dish is aware this Big10 fiasco will affect their bottom line.
Do you not think the B10 bottom line will be affected from the loss of Dish's business?
Once Purdue gets to Conference Football we will see if there is a solution to Dish dropping BTN. We have some tickets so those weekends won't matter much. I don't know how the people on this forum got through to someone that actually cared about customer service at Dish but it hasn't happened for me. The somewhat polite, overall condescending rep expecting me to buy into the 'fact' that Dish is doing everything to with AMC and BTN (and all the locals) so that they can remain the only provider to not raise rates (which isn't true, my rates have increased they raise rates when adding programming {which is fine} but never lower prices when they take things away unless you call and make a stink). Dropping programming so that they don't have to raise rates is not what the customer wants. Adding PAC12 at the same time they decide to drop BTN is a sign that they had no intention of operating in good faith with BTN and with the consumers. Get a cheap network with very little demand (only a few regional cable systems run PAC12) to replace a well liked network so that they can charge the same amount and make more money per user. I enjoy our Dish system but if the programming I want is not there then why would I stay? I asked this of the condescending rep on the phone and I got the canned answer that by helping BTN and Fox I was going to hurt everyone else. Staying with Dish will help keep my solidarity with the 'people' and not support the 'evil empire' networks that only want to hurt me and other consumers while taking lollipops from children, kicking puppies and mugging almoners.
