Caller Id On 625 Dvr

The caller ID feature does not work on our 625 DVR. We have tried everything. A tech support person has been out to look at the DVR and is clueless. Phone jack is ok, we have enabled the caller ID feature, and DVR works fine. We have a hd receiver and a 311 receiver also. The caller ID works on both receivers. I think it has to do with the wiring. Does anyone have a suggestion. Thanks!

Mine works.

Are you sure of the phone line going to your receiver? You might be using one with gnarly wiring.

How do you know the jack is OK? Do you have one of those telephone line testers? (The latter cost a couple of $, but can show you when you have no connection or reversed polarity.)

That's just how it is. It's just a known problem that's been going on for a long time. Give it a few months and most likely it'll just start working on its own. You can swap reciever locations to test the caller id, but most likely it's just the 625 doing what it does best.

Our 625 has always been very hit and miss on caller ID - you never can predict when it is going to work or not. The caller ID on our old 301 receiver worked great with the same phone connection.
