Its a fairly straight forward situation locking in 87 being its pretty much top of arc for me. I could run from 55.5 to 135 and get stuff on everything, but on 87, specifically the LUKEN mux on 4000H29125 i get a strong signal, but pixelation. I thought it was from lack of fine tuning. But, i got even a stronger signal today after fine tuning , and it is still doing it. At first, i took out the 22khz switch, it was still doing it, then i bypassed the ASC, and then the LUKEN mux came in clear. I re-plugged in the 22khz switch and signal still great. I need the 22khz switch for my C/KU setup.

That is the only transponder that i am getting pixelation on with the ASC1 in the loop. If i put the ASC1 back into the system, but put it on a 22khz switch so the LNB does not run through it, then the LUKEN transponder comes in fine. So, it is something on the ASC1 that is causing the issue. (of course, with this setup, i don't have my KU plugged in.)

Odd... Luken channels come in fine through multiple ASC1 units at the shop as I have them on most of the time. In fact I was just watching via the Slingbox at home. :D

Will need to do some troubleshooting to narrow this one MUX issue. Maybe the SNR is low, jumper or fitting, etc.?

Are you asking me a question, or thinking to yourself? What is the SNR? jumper - Internally? Fitting? The coax cables are all screwed in finger tight.

Luken channels fine through an ASC1 here as well.
its weird that this is the only transponder that you are having this problem with.
what receiver and firmware version are you using?
snr is signal to noise ratio, or signal quality

I have noticed the Luken transponder to be more difficult to pin down. Lobe issues. I used to have a separate sat position for it. But this summer I went through all the aiming process again and its right on with the rest of the transponders and good strong signal.
I noticed the ASC1 does not have near as much signal loss as other DiSEqC boxes. This also means interfering signals are also stronger and can then be noticed.

Okay, this setup gets rid of the problem of the LUKEN mux on 87 and allows me to get my KU plugged back in, and my KU doesn't seem to be bouncing around when i choose a Cband satellite. Hopefully this will be the final setup.

I also noticed that when i used the ASC1 and started scrolling down to the SAVE position it would cause a momentary signal disruption on the channel. This setup negates that as well.

PS. the 22khz switch is an Ecoda which sends the diseqc signals down both ports always no matter the switch setting - allowing for this setup.

There is no problem causing the loss of signal during the save process using the ASC1 front panel or remote control. Notice what highlights on the display as you toggle down to "SAVE". Do you notice that you are highlighting both Vertical and Horizontal polarity selection menu settings? The menu allows the user to manually select (override) the STB polarity selection and fine-tuning the skew for each polarity. The reason that you are noticing a momentarily signal loss is that you are manually changing the polarity setting of the Feedhorn servo while toggling through the horizontal/vertical settings. Alterbatively, you could use the STB SiSEqC 1.2 menu to move and save the satellite position.

In my earlier post, I am suggesting that there are likely other issues within your system (Signal To Noise ratio of this specific transponder, a jumper coax cable or a fitting installed on a coax cable) that is causing the loss of the Luken mux. As others are pointing out, this can be a problematic transponder to receive.

Sure an odd switch configuration that shouldn't be necessary. Glad that you identified a solution for your installation and that is all that matters... :D

I have a similar issue on the canadian stuff with my VBOX X. I put a splitter in so that one output goes to my receiver and one goes to my vbox and haven't had a problem since. I hate to throw away 3db for this type of thing, but it beats having glitchy recordings.
