This is why Bush has taken us to the terrorists to fight in their "training grounds". We don't want all of this to be over here. If we just stand by and do nothing as in 1993 in the first WTC bombing, more 9/11's will happen in the US.

Our best hope of turning around world opinions is with the children. That's why the mission work that US churches and charities are doing over there are so important. We were dealing with the Iran hostage situation when I was in elementary school. If we had started some real action back then, we'd have come a long way by now toward ridding the perverse attitudes of these radical groups.

I think what's happening now in Iraq and Afganistan will make it better for my nephews, step sons, and grandchildren in the future.

For Government Healthcare, look at the VA Hospital System

If you want to see what government run healthcare is like, look at the VA hospitals. While filled with caring people, the funds are cut short and the hospitals are forced to serve more and more people with less money.

This means ALL DAY trips to take care of a simple Dr's appointment. I'm living it with my father in law right now. Also, I see many of you here criticizing the government about their handling of many things, and talking about the Rep. party staying out of your personal life. If doesn't get more personal than your healthcare.

If you haven't asked your 65+ friends and family how much their medication costs, you'd be shocked. Also, the quality of their healthcare tends to slip unless they have enough of their own private funds to subsidize. You don't want the government deciding which medical cases and priority, and you don't want to have to wait 8 months for a surgery that under private, care you could have right away. That's how long a friend of mine had to wait to have a painful gallbladder problem taken care of. He is not a "combat veteran", so is not a priority and had to wait until funds were available. The government is new a good steward of money in general.

Visit the National Center for Policy Analysis website and read information about real healthcare reform. It is a true crisis, and we as a nation are going to have to give up our addiction to "co-pays" to solve it.

Also, we have a huge drain on the fiscal budget due to medicaid fraud. I'd prefer to see more enforcement and auditting there than to make huge sweeping changes and shift even more of the burden of other people's healthcare to the middle class.

The upper class (officially those with household incomes over $121,000 national average) represents 5% of the US population, and already pays 53% of the taxes in this country. That's already pretty close to socialism, and that's not what this country was founded on. It's time for people to take responsibility for themselves.

We are really kicking the crap out of Al Qaeda in Iraq. Damn I feel so much safer now. I bet the people in London agree with your comment as well.

Open your eyes, things we are doing in Iraq right now does nothing to turn around world opinion. Yeah lets attempt to spread the word of God in the form of Chrisitianity to an Islamic world. Its a very thin line between mission work and attempting to "save" people spiritually. "Saving" people who don't have the same beliefs in you will only create more resentment and hatred toward the western world.

It's a damn shame that only 5% of our countrymen and women make over $121,000 a year. Have you seen what is going on lately? Have you seen the price of gas? Do you actually know how much it costs to raise a family? Lets not forget that some churches ask for a percentage of a family's annual income. Have you ever thought that some families choose to live under the upper class ratio to have a person at home in an effort to provide a stable family life for their children? I can't even touch the issue of lower income families and what a joke healthcare and gov't services are for them. When was the last time the minimum wage was increased? Don't get me wrong, I think everyone is given choices in life and should live with these choices, but I fear that as our society goes on, everyone will not at least be given a chance to make the choice.

I will agree that taxes are skewed a bit too much, but sweeping healthcare costs under the middle class rug sounds a bit arrogant to me. And it seems to me that yes there are people that take advantage of medicaid on other gov't services, but I have a feeling that percentage is heavily outweighed by the "upper class" and their actions in attempting to make an extra buck. And all of this is being solved by our efforts in Iraq.

The problem I have with what we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan is that we are too damn worried about what the rest of the world thinks! Lets do what we have to do and get out! We need to worry about our own country a little more!
