Sorry I haven't been a little more active as I have been really trying hard to get my system straight without having to bother too many folks. Over the past few days I have been doing blind scan after blind scan only to somehow get lost when I hit the sat button on my remote to go back to the sats I was scanning. Thats when I noticed that the viewsat was doing strange things like when I scan amc 9 it would call it usersat1 in my sat list. I also noticed other things like when I added a sat and tryed to scan it, it would scan a completely different one. Oh, and this is the big gripe that I have if anyone would like to chime in. I have found several channels that I liked, but when doing a re-scan I lost them, but if I load the back up copy of my channel list that I made through the jump drive there back!!@#$$%^. Whats up with this?

I started doing some reading and I found a program called channel master to use to edit my channel and sat list. It seems as though when you try to delete channels in the viewsat menu it locks up and stops working. Then you have to re-boot it to work again and you loose your changes that you made. This is extremely frustraiting.Thats whey I was looking into channel master. But as always, a road block. When I load the channel and sat list that I made off of my jump drive into channel master it is all garbled, just a bunch of symbols where the channel names should be.

I know this is asking alot but what I was hoping for is for someone to make me a channel list from there box that I can use channel master to convert that list to work with my viewsat. I just want to see what is going on with this view sat. So far it looks like all my decisions I made about getting into this were bad, viewsat is slow to scan, misses channels, messes up when editing and saving, dish is flimsy and so on. But these lessons learned just give me something to look forward to, like chrishmas and getting another box!Eventually I hope to get this worked out. Thanks in advance.

Which viewsat are you using? What firmware is it running? I have heard of problems like this with VS Ultra before, and seems like it was when memory was getting too full. I've had mine "move" satellites around in the sat-list before, which I can't explain. That is, I scan the sats from east to west so they'll be in order when you push the SAT button, but sometimes it will take a satellite and move it to the end of the list. I guess since they're really just small computers, rebooting and reloading the software from time to time is in order. Getting ready to do that here, been several weeks since I did a factory reset and started over.

Too many Blind Scans can cause memory corruption on any receiver.
Like any computer, keep a current back-up.
You can use Channel Master to add Sats, TPs, and Channels, then send to the Viewsat.
From my experience with Viewsats, Blind Scan 1 Sat at a time.
Also, be sure to have the Factory Firmware loaded.
