Well, his first start came and went with pretty good success. Roger didn't look too bad in his first start. The added plus was the spark he seemed to add to the Yankees clubhouse. Let's see how he does against some of the elite teams.

Thats fine, If Clemons comes in and goes 8-2 over the rest of the season, the Yankees still don't have enough pitching to get to the playoffs.

As Ricky Ricardo would say: "I dun thin so Lucy" They've won 6 in a row ....;) and btw, aren't there over 100 games left?

Actually 101 games left and if they go 65-36, they would end up with 95 wins and that might be enough to win the East, then again, maybe not.

Are they capable of playing .650 + ball ?

Tigers and Indians are 6 and 7 games ahead of the Yanks for the wild card, and the Tigers are waiting for pitchers to get back.

Lemme show ya something....

THOSE are the division standings.....

EAST W L PCT GB
Boston 40 22 .645 -
NY Yankees 30 31 .492 9.5
Toronto 30 32 .484 10
Baltimore 29 34 .460 11.5
Tampa Bay 28 33 .459 11.5

And THOSE are the wildcard standings:

Detroit 36 26 .581 -
Seattle 33 26 .559 1.5
Oakland 34 28 .548 2.0
Minnesota 30 31 .492 5.5
New York 30 31 .492 5.5
Toronto 30 32 .484 6.0
Baltimore 29 34 .460 7.5

Unless you see a major collapse somewhere, it is wishful thinking.....

Passing 4 teams in the WC race will be harder than playing .650 ball, which I don't see happening either.
