I got a client on Amazon for my roommate's TV. This is how it is hooked up:

coax from satellite dish > swim splitter > (red power line) > HR44
splitter > to client (using the same coax that my old client was set up with)
splitter > (blank)
splitter > (blank)

HR44 is wired to Internet router, but usually connects wirelessly and is connected.

I hooked up it, input the pin code, and contacted customer service to add the client to my account. I can see the client on my account online. But when it client is done "verifying the connection" it says that I have reached my maximum number of locations (0) and have customer service add another. Well, I did that! I can see the client on my account! I refreshed, RBRed (both units), let the client download a software update, but it still doesn't work.

Tips? Suggestions? Thanks.

also, when you say your 44 is hooked up wired, do you mean an ethernet cable from the router directly to the 44, or does it go to a BB deca? either way, having it connected two ways at once is not a good idea.

The installer hooked it up to the router. Recently, it started to tell me that I wasn't connected to the Internet. Eventually, I had to re-connect it wirelessly. I just unhooked the wired connection, then I am going to reset the router and then see what happens.

Now the client is now displaying code 54-936. Part of the message says to restart the server, so I will do that.

Any updates? Were you ever able to get the client working properly?

Nope!

The other night, I spend about 2.5 hours with a rep on chat. She tried everything on her end to make it work. She said that she had never not been able to get it working before. She said that a tech will have to come and do it because he can force the moca test and software download.

The problem is I have a "moved" account so if they show up to try to fix it, they will end up at my brother's house...

Are there other tips about getting it to work that I could try?

The way you describe the hookup should be fine, and how the HR44 is internet connected shouldn't affect the client connected via coax. Definitely something missing but everything you describe is correct.

Likely time to call and move back and makes sure the work order is setup for the correct service address.

Try putting the client on the same splitter as the HR44

That is how it is installed. There is only one splitter, it has 4 outputs. I tried each of the 3 free ones with the rep, too. I thought of this earlier - I am running the latest CE (it has the "connected" thing and a slide for on-demand and stuff when you hit menu) on my HR44. Should I hook it all back up, revert to the NR software and try it again? Would that make a difference?
